I didn’t leave nursing because I hated it — I left because something inside me was calling for more. I was always that person on the hospital floor who could fix the tech when it broke. When the system crashed or the printer froze, the nurses didn’t wait on IT — they called me.
Eventually, I listened to that gift. I went back to school, earned my degree in computer science, and stepped into the world of IT. And let me tell you — it changed everything. The schedule was calmer. The stress was manageable. The money was good. But most importantly, I had mental bandwidth again.
That’s when I circled back to a childhood love of mine: real estate.
I used to watch Home Improvement with my dad and dream up renovations, upgrades, and flip ideas. That spark never died — it just waited.
Now, I work full-time in IT compliance, securing systems, managing risk, and keeping companies protected. But I also use my income, logic, and schedule to fund real estate deals that build wealth for me — not just my employer.
I’m not here to sell you hype. I’m here to show you what’s possible.
Because I still love my career. But I also love knowing I have options if the market shifts, life changes, or layoffs hit. I’m building a portfolio that will fund my freedom, fuel my retirement, and eventually give back to others — and I want to help other women in tech do the same.
If you’ve been thinking, “I make good money, but I could be doing more with it,” — you’re in the right place.
